Date Found: 1970
Current Owner: Lorraine Warren
Description
The doll appears like that of a large, 1970's Raggedy Ann Doll.
History
According to Ed and Lorraine Warren, the doll was given to a nurse by her mother in 1970. The girl lived in an apartment with her roommate. In the coming months the doll began to act strange. It moved from place to place and wrote messages on paper to the girls. After seeing a "liquidy red substance" on the doll, they contacted a psychic medium who told them that the doll is possessed by a girl known as "Annabelle Higgins". The Warrens were eventually contacted by the girls as well. The Warrens then had a priest attempt to exorcise the doll, but failed. Instead, they had a blessed cabinet built to contain the doll. It has been at The Warren's Occult Museum ever since.
Theory
If you have read about the Warrens, you know that it is rumored that the Warrens would pay people to sensationalize their stories. A professor of religious studies, by the name of Joseph Laylock, also claims that that the Warrens were using this as a hoax to capitalize on the fear of "Robert the Doll".
